Hello Beautiful Souls!
I have some awesome news regarding my writing. Last year I applied to be part of the Write On mentorship program with the Writers Collective of Canada. A ten-week program where at the end of the program the writings that were worked on and edited would be submitted in the Front Lines Anthologies with the themes hope, courage, and resilience.
This was an amazing experience for me as an emerging writer. I met some intriguing people I would probably never run across and talk to about poetry with. We had a fabulous instructor/mentor Shannon Leahy. Shannon really encouraged us, helped us along the process, kept us focused, and on our toes. Overall a great experience I would love to do again.
There is going to be a listening party to launch the books. I would like you to join the live deep listening party Tuesday June 7th at 6:30 EST click link below to get your free tickets.
If you are not able to attend the deep listening party, you can support by purchasing the anthologies. There are three anthologies, Courage, Hope, and Resilience but My writings are in two which are Hope and Resilience.
Excerpts from my published poems
Guardian Angel in Anthology Hope
“I feel my life explode.
Laying on the table where hundreds of women have heard those same words.
My heart starts to race not from excitement but from fear.
I don’t yell or even say a word, I grab my husband’s hand again. A single tear drops down my cheek. I have failed as a woman.”
Baby Crone in Anthology Resilience
“I’m free and I live!
Not taking No for an answer in all that I do.
yet a spirit tells me “sit child”
think, preserve yourself, running amuck that’s for the weak
I want to roam the streets, and feel the heat under my feet, that lights the fearless fire of desire.”
