Summer ways

With the summer gaze

Hearty summertime

Not for the weak

Especially when its looking bleak,

Over the hazy horizon.

But the adventurous youth love the summer,

And the summer ways

Afflicted summer days

The slick bold ones jump,

While watching the shy one’s slump.

Oh, those summer ways!

When you’re laughing and dancing

Ice cream cones and mosquito bites

Right on my ass!

Running thru the lawn water

Grandma steady swinging the fly swatter.

Bar B que pit smoking

Paper plates and stomachs bloating

Outdoor concerts raging

Everybody is engaging.

Let’s do it all again tomorrow!
