My Sacred Land

Updated: Mar 24, 2021

I wanted to share a new project I worked on back in January for the Tales from the Trail YouTube channel that was released this week. I was asked to write a poem correlated to a hiking trail in Utah, The Navajo Trail. I went deeper with this poem then just describing nature but more on history of a sacred land. When I write my poetry and I have a good muse I can be creative with, it brings me joy to express deep emotions and reality. I try to bring out the raw emotions to make my readers feel my poetry. Listening to my poem "My Sacred Land” being read brought me chills. I hope you take time to really listen, enjoy the visuals, and share with others.

My land, My Sacred land.

Land of treasures, of history, of wisdom, listen closely the land will express its self.

A Peaceful journey my land has had, till that day came and it was taken,

By those who care not about its beauty or its history.

Many legends have walked on this land and lived on this land,

True, respectable legends and tribes will be known,

but unfortunately, crusaders who claim to have found my sacred land are recognized by many but recognized by lies.
